The UK and US governments cannot ignore Israel's targeting of journalists

Gaza press statement header
Dozens of journalists reporting the horrors committed by Israeli forces have been targeted, severely injured or killed whilst working in Gaza.

The IDF’s latest statement, accusing 6 Al Jazeera journalists of terrorism without evidence, is nothing short of pre-emptive justification for their murders.

Journalists operating in conflict zones must be treated and protected as civilians, whilst being allowed to perform their duties without interference. The intentional targeting of journalists constitutes a war crime and a serious breach of international law.

The US and UK governments, along with other Western nations, continue to provide political cover and deadly arms to Israel despite its well-documented and countless breaches of international law.
It is simply unconscionable that this policy of unchecked and unconditional support continues.

We call on all nations providing arms to Israel to immediately halt these sales, condemn Israel’s war crimes and recognise the State of Palestine as part of building the path to lasting peace.
