The Peace and Justice Project wholeheartedly endorses the Nouveau Front Populaire electoral alliance in the French general election as the best chance to stop a far-right majority and offer the French people hope.

The developments in France reflect the rise of the far right in Europe, the United States and beyond, sowing division and fear in our societies. Their message of hate can only be defeated by one of love, acceptance and solidarity.

From corporate greed fuelling the climate crisis, to wars destroying the hopes of entire generations, it is the duty of socialists working together across borders to build an alternative to the misery faced by millions. Frustrating the ambitions of the far right and offering a real alternative is the only way forward.
