Jeremy Corbyn brands government's Rwanda policy "profoundly immoral"

Speaking following the High Court's decision that the Tories' Rwanda policy is 'lawful', Jeremy Corbyn says he is "appalled" by the ruling.

Speaking following the High Court ruling, Jeremy said: "I am appalled to hear that the Rwanda scheme has been ruled lawful. The plan to deport refugees to a country they have never known remains profoundly immoral. History remembers those who stand up for humanity. That will include those who resist this heinous act of cruelty."

The Peace & Justice Project remains completely opposed to the government legislation to deport refugees fleeing war, poverty, famine and the impacts of the climate crisis to processing centres in Rwanda. We send our solidarity to the PCS Union, Care 4 Calais and Detention Action as they seek to appeal this ruling.
