ICC arrest warrants: British government must respect ruling and international law

PJP website header
Peace & Justice Project welcomes the International Criminal Court's decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.

The ICC's decision comes after 13 months of intense bombing and targeted attacks on civilians in Gaza. The ruling refers to both individuals intentionally and knowingly depriving the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity.

We now call on the British government, specifically Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Foreign Secretary David Lammy, to confirm their acceptance of the ICC's ruling, the UK's commitment to upholding international law and that all named in the arrest warrant will be arrested should they enter the UK. We also demand the end to British complicity in the atrocities witnessed by the world in Gaza through arms sales and by introducing significant sanctions on the state of Israel.
