Peace & Justice Project condemns the Court of Appeal‘s ruling on the government’s proscription of Palestine Action.

Today's ruling, which effectively overturns the High Court’s original ruling and marks a deeply disturbing attack on our civil liberties, right to protest and power to hold the British state accountable for its role in Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Last year, we hosted The Gaza Tribunal, which laid bare the depths of British complicity and participation in the Gaza genocide. This complicity and involvement has now reached far beyond arming, surveillance and diplomatic cover, and now extends to criminalising support for those seeking to prevent further death, destruction and displacement at the hands of Israel.

As humanitarians, it is our duty to support any and all further appeals against today’s ruling.

We will continue to oppose the authoritarianism of the British government. We will also continue in our demands for justice for the Palestinian people slaughtered by Israel since October 2023.
